The mental health services division responds to reported mental health problems on a 24-hour basis every day of the year. This division is primarily engaged in the involuntary commitment of individuals suffering from drug or alcohol abuse, deemed dangerous to self or others, or gravely disabled. It also serves as a resource center for concerned families and friends seeking help for those suffering from mental illness problems. The staff coordinates resources for those dealing with mental health problems with Elderly Protection Services, Child Protection Services, and many private hospitals throughout the state. |
