Dr. Treuting, a board certified pathologist, and his staff use the latest forensic investigation techniques in all Jefferson Parish homicide investigations. As a member of the Jefferson Parish Criminal Justice Agency, Dr. Treuting works closely with local and state law enforcement officials to provide expertise in the areas of death investigation, mental health commitments, and sexual assault cases. Yearly educational seminars and training in forensic science topics exemplify his dedication to serve the people of Jefferson and the men and women of law enforcement.

Dr. Treuting is past president of the Louisiana State Coroner's Association. He is recognized throught the state of Louisiana for his ability to draft and pass laws affecting coroners and to represent his fellow coroners in the halls of the Louisiana Legislature.

Dr. Treuting serves on the board of directors of The Blood Center. He is also a member of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists and the National Association of Medical Examiners.

After a successful millage election, he helped design and build one of the most advanced forensic facilities in the country. The Jefferson Parish Forensic Facility is the home of the Jefferson Parish Coroner's Office.
